EFFECTIVE NOVEMBER 16, 2020, ALL ADMINISTRATIVE HEARINGS aka PARKING COURT HEARINGS ARE SUSPENDED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.
In an effort to protect public health at this critical time, all Parking Hearings are suspended indefinitely. If you have received a notice that you are scheduled, you will be rescheduled for a future time. ANY HEARING SCHEDULED AFTER NOVEMBER 16, 2020 UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE IS CANCELED AND WILL BE RESCHEDULED. Reschedule dates have not been determined but we are monitoring the surge in Coronavirus/Covid 19 cases locally. Dates will be determined based on information from the Allen County Department of Health with an emphasis on protecting citizens and staff who need to attend.
Parking Enforcement is a revenue-producing department that was placed under the supervision of the City Clerk in 1997.
This department supports itself with revenues from the following:
- Enforcement of applicable laws and city policies relating to metered parking
- Enforcing City Code relating to residential parking and abandoned vehicle code infractions
- Responding to citizen complaints concerning abandoned and illegal vehicles
- Posting “No Parking” signs and bag meters
Parking Meter rates are $1.00 per hour and can be paid with coins or credit/debit cards.
Metered Parking is free from 5 PM to 8 AM on weekdays, on Saturdays and Sundays, and on City Holidays. The City of Fort Wayne recognizes the following holidays:
