This session is great for future veterinarians, vet techs and teens interested in working in an animal shelter. **TEENS WILL OBSERVE ACTUAL SURGERIES**

RESPONSIBLE BREEDING VS. PUPPY MILLS
January 30
10 a.m. – Noon

Each year the Humane Society of the United States releases a list they call the “Horrible Hundred” outlining the worst offender breeders in the country. Four breeders on that list are in Northeast Indiana. At Fort Wayne Animal Care & Control we advocate adopting a pet in need at a shelter but know that some people choose to go to a breeder for a specific breed of dog. In this session we’ll learn about the difference between a responsible breeder and a puppy mill. We’ll also learn the important questions anyone should as a breeder when considering buying a puppy.
